The Sudden Curve's officially approved image of Che

Today is the anniversary of the Bay of Pigs.  Lest we forget the heroics of Brigade 2506 forty-four years ago, the perfidity of Camelot's Boy-King who betrayed them,  and the  vapid glamourisation of this murderous fraud's legacy:

"Don't shoot.  I'm Che.  I'm worth more to you alive than dead."

Ker-pow!

At least there is some justice in this world.  Soon, perhaps,  a final measure will be delt to the remaining tyrant(s).

We can hope, anyway.

From a Cuban-American

Now here's a guy who gets it.

Dear Bob,

Thank you for speaking out on Cuba and Hollywood, "The Evil Fidel Castro." I
live in LA, am a Cuban-American actor and don't understand how ANY American
could even tolerate a totalitarian dictatorship from either the left or the
right. Where were they during civics class? It's simply incomprehensible. We
need more people like you speaking out on this topic because no body listens to
us exiles. And that's another interesting feature. We know less than anyone
on the left about our own country. As if the horrors that got us out of
communist rule is not applicable in debate. Hello???

Thanks again,

The Land of Make-Believe

Now why is it that every letter I got from a Cuban-American clearly understands what Castro is, and yet letters from Europe show that in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king?

Paul Hollander, in his book, Political Pilgrims, explains the lopsided Potemkin Village mentality of these people, who can only see the little bit of good in a very bad country like Cuba, and only the bad in a good country like the US.

Dear Bob,

I´ve just read your article on Cuba and I just returned from Cuba, a place where
I travel regularly. I know also the US. I´ve been there. I wonder how often
you´ve been to Cuba recently. Your article is just another product of lies about
other countries, a very typical product of US arrogancy.

I can assure you that for instance the medical care of the Cuban population is
far better than in your own country. On my frequent travels to Cuba, I have
never met an analphabet. I met heaps of them in the US. And many of those US
citizens who went to a school don´t have half the culture and education of
Cubans.

It is true: Cubans are normally poor. One reason: the injust and murderous
blockage of the island imposed by all of your governments since the 60s.

And please: don´t start calculations on how many people Castro might have
killed. Your country has the world record of bombings and killings of innocent
people in dozens of countries in the world. So you are nor really in a position
to give lessons of decency to the world.

So don´t write about things you have no idea about.

By the way: I am neither a communist, nor in any other way related to political
propaganda. I just can´t stand people writing cheap propaganda leaflets like you
do. Cuba is today a well respected country in most nations of this world. I you
travel and apart from that - unlike most Americans - speak a couple of languages
you find easily out about that. Thousands of Cuban doctors are working in
different parts of this world. How many US doctores do that? Oh yes, I forgot:
you send soldiers and bombs to different parts of our world. This is your
contribution. Therefore the US is so well respected everywhere and this is the
reason why US embassies are more like medieval fortresses than embassies of
"freedom".

Greetings from Spain

A Bunch of Misfiring Neurons

Huh

I occasionally get letters that don't make much sense. This one, about my review of Humberto Fontova's book, is one of them. The italicized sentences are mine.

About as far as I've ever gone into the ocean is ankle-deep.

Which points out, at the start, that you have fear of reality.

The ocean stands for reality? You mean the reality of Spongebob Squarepants? I was under the impression that mythically the sea represented the womb. Reality? This guy's wacko. But then, what do you expect from some loon defending Casto?

He incarcerates more people as a percentage of population than Hitler or Stalin.

The country with the highest percentage of incarcerated population is the US. The state, within the US, with the highest percentage of incarceration is Texas.

The article was about Cuba, not the US.

He has impoverished and brutalized Cuba to the point where 20 percent of its population risked their lives to flee.

The country with the highest rate of emmigration at the moment is the US. Canada has had to change its immigration laws, due to the influx. Geneva, Switzerland receives 200 people each day, from the US, who are seeking refuge. Berlin is flooded with an immigrant American population.

Uh oh. Cloud Coo-Coo Land! And I'll bet he really believes these numbers.

Castro sent his agents to torture to death American POWs in North Vietnam's Cu Loc POW camp outside Hanoi in 1967.

Even if true, it has no comparison to US activities for the past thirty years.

Uh. . .the article was about Castro and Cuba?

The list goes on and on, as it always does with tyrants. All of whom, I'll add, always call themselves benefactors.

I have met both Castro and the two Bushs. Castro and the senior Bush can hold an intelligent conversation, in English. The shrub is a fucking idiot.

Uh. . .maybe you met them in your dreams.

Someday, I might even retire there.

I hope you do, quickly. However, if you wish to vacation, I will arrange a visit with Castro, if you wish. You need a reality check.

I really do wish this made sense.

Note to Self--Throw Away .38

This is the biggest Grizzly bear ever found.

Not_a_teddy_bear

It stood 14 feet tall and weighed over 1600 pounds. It charged a man carrying a hunting rifle, who emptied it into the bear, then reloaded and shot it in the head since it was still alive. The bear had killed at least two people, including one guy who emptied his .38 revolver at it, hitting it four times. Those four slugs only made the bear mad, since it ate half the guy. I've never thought .38s were acceptable handguns (or 9mms, which are essentially .38s). They're certainly no good for defending yourself against wildlife!

P.S. Hey, PETA doofi, here's the site (click HERE) from which I pulled the photo. That one on the lower right is not for the faint of heart; it's what's left of one guy after the bear what et most of him. But, anyway, let's not forget animals are our friends.
