Not long ago I posted a Music Video Babe entry for Karla DeVito featuring her performance with Meatloaf on Paradise by the Dashboard Light. Those who saw that posting might recall I mentioned she did a lip-synch to the original singer's voice from the album recording. Ellen Foley was that original singer. However, since she wasn't in that video (or any others from Bat Out Of Hell), this entry won't feature more of those videos.
Ellen Foley has had both a solo singing career and contributed to efforts with others since singing on Bat Out Of Hell. She has also had an active stage presence on Broadway, in film and on TV. I like the sample below of her singing.
Back when MTV was new, the video below was shown often. It remains one of my favorites for many reasons.
The Bat Out Of Hell album had a few top 40 hits, but sold steadily, became legendary and spawned several follow-ups. Most people associated with it did well as a result. Karla DeVito toured with Meatloaf promoting the album. Although she had not done the vocal work on the original album (done by Ellen Foley), she got the call to do the music videos. Since she does lip synch in this it might not be on her short list of favorite videos, but it is on mine.
Most people who know April Stevens' music probably think of the hit made with her brother Nino Tempo: Deep Purple. However, April had some hits of her own, such as this one which predates music videos, but this clip has some shots of April for footage:
That struck me as quite apropos for The Sudden Curve.
Here's wishing a belated Happy Birthday to April Stevens !!!
Posted by Tom Ender, who meant to post that yesterday, but took advantage of the reasonably nice day to work in the yard, and then got caught up in other things.
Wah wah wah wah wah, indeed.
Finally, this one is a very highly anticipated film by Sandy Collora. It's about a team of commandos chasing an escaped alien prisoner that's escaped after a crash landing. Very Star Wars looking. Check it out ::

Astro Boy is coming in October and here is the latest and very sharp looking trailer for it ::
