Sahara DryEar SAH-007C Portable/Rechargeable Ear Dryer
Oh Cool - I'm getting one of these right now. No it's not a marital aid, you preeverts ... it's a blow dryer for your ear canal.
Why the Hell didn't they have these 20 years ago? I could have saved a fortune on Sudafed and Afrin nose drops. Crap... forget twenty years ago, why didn't I know they had these 3 days ago? Then maybe I wouldn't be DEEF on my left side from this miserable death plague of reoccuring swimmers ear - ouch!

For the last couple weeks the grapevine has been chattering over the "big" upgrades coming to Yahoo!. Well, for developers and advertisers there was a significant change but what about us poor lil' old users? Over the last 3 years or so I've gotten used to the little slideshow of my favorite MyPhotos that appeared on my MyYahoo! home page. In fact, it's really what I like the best about the darn portal thing. Now, apparently, it's just gone. Drat! Oh, sure, I could do something, there are plenty of desktop slideshow viewers around and I could probably use Flickr now for this, but I don't care enough one way or the other ... and ... hmmm, HEY! maybe that's what those Yahooligans were counting on.
For all their s-l-o-w-n-e-s-s I still like MyYahoo! pages because they are very easy to use for bookmarking pages and then accessing those bookmarks from any computer, and a MyYahoo! page makes a handy Calendar/ Organizer in a pinch - but still - I want my MyPhotos back on my MyYahoo! page and I want them back right now, and I don't want to have to dick around to get them back!!!!
Supposedly there are some changes coming to MyPhotos but Yahoo isn't telling ME what they are - - it's maybe time to switch over to Google home. Google is a whole lot faster than Yahoo is anyhoo ...

Pretty sure Gnomedex 6 is sold out. This year I'm taking the Kolchak : The Night Strangler underground Seattle tour. To walk in the footsteps of TSC's favorite actor Darren McGavin ( not to mention, Jo Ann Pflug - woooba wooooo!).

YOU are a comment spammer. Whoopie, we are ALL comment spammers now!
Yes, yes, I know that if you try to leave a comment on this here blogzine, TypeWad, I mean, TypePad will accuse you of being the lowest form of scum-sucking, net-pirating, troll on the web and tell you to contact the "minister of fear" or someone for approval. Well, guess what? I can't comment either. I don't think that anyone can. And for once, I even have SixApart's double-secret, rocket-science, decodeing wave-machine set properly according to their own tutorial. Harumph!

You just can't make this stuff up. I thought these people were long gone, but apparently not. Now here are people doing Maoist movie reviews. I swear, this is a real site, and these people are totally serious.

Okay, I got fooled, too. Here's what I and everyone else thought was a home computer, circa 1954.
Drats, it's a hoax.
Turns out it's a doctored photo from an exhibit in a museum. Of all things, it's the control room of an old submarine. Okay, it's funny. It even fooled me, although I did wonder about the steering wheel. I figured it was a 1950's version of a joystick for video games.

The online lemmings and lemurs are all agog and magog about the new beta tool from Google:

Well, the editors at large of the The Sudden Curve have a suggestion for YOU, Google.. We suggest that you start paying US for wasting all our bandwidth and making you look good! How about that, huh? Or how about spreading around some of that twenty-two times earnings priced stock y0u guys got floating around Wall Street. Come on, Google, it's Xmas - show us the (count de) MONET
That's right, YOU people coming here from google images ;
either BUY SOMETHING or go the heck away ... And stay away!
What do you think, that bandwidth grows free on trees? HUH? Well it doesn't. Last thing we need is a lotta' poltroons hanging around and rubbernecking. Okay? So all you, window-peepers, go on over to bOinkbOink or Eggadget or Instupondit or some other vulgarian commercial blog site that actually wants click-thrus so they can sell spyware advertising. Now, stop your drooling allover our electronics, crystal stemware, sci-fi best-sellers and assorted retro-digital-analog faldaral and - beat it. All of you, right now. Go on- go play in traffic.
... nosey parkers.
Memo to all editors at large ::
Hmmmm. The entire first half of the month seems to have vanished out of the archives. Oh well, those wastes of bandwidth scintillating posts were all pretty lame anyway jewels of English literature and good riddance it's a crime they are missing!

~ UPDATE ~ Whoops, mashed the wrong button. Now it's fixed. Just another Emily Litella moment; n-e-v-e-r-m-i-n-d.
Ahem. Well, since you asked ...
Yes, in this election year from hell, we also are aggravated to our last nerve from reading "technology blogs" and "product reviews" that are 20% tech and 80% leftist socio-political drek. Now thanks to audio.blogs and podcasting we get to listen to them too - oh joy! But we want to keep up with the tech news so, whatchagonnado?
The answer, dear readers, is just bypass these nerds, ditch their emails, newsletters, e-zines and blog rolls and get yourselves a aggregator to eliminate the aggravation so you can go straight to the "wonderful things" out there and make your own "directory" of them. It's easy now. ![]()
Just do an end run at the sites and subscribe to the RSS XML or Atom enabled content you want directly at the news source. It won't take long at all to build up a list of sources you like and you'll be kept up to date on what's what - and how. Without all that naggy hyperbole.
Which reader do we suggest ?
Well, there are a lot of free ones, but over the long, painful years we've tried a slew of them, and we think that the best feed reader for you, the faithful, TSC throng (the eleven of you that use windows computers, that is, not you 3 mac guys) is Feed Demon. Uuhmmm, sorry even tho it's not *free* we still think it's the best anyway and we are big-time cheapasses (yes, we paid retail for ours so- there!). Feed Demon is $29.95 US but that's after the trial period. Which means you can try before you buy; and you should do that with most software because your mileage may differ.
Just the reduction in butt-numbed hours in front of the ole computron is worth the price.
What ultimately sold us on Feed Demon, besides the great name, is the awesome level of support that developer Nick Bradbury delivers along with the purchase. Every feed reader we've tried that is freeware or shareware has broken down under our humungous load. Feed Demon works and it's been continuously updated and improved and will continue to be updated and improved in the future. You do get what you pay for, folks. Plus Feed Demon is very easy to use and not aggravating at all. Unlike some aggregators. It does all the work for you. Bravo!
The other factor is that Feed Demon interfaces with Newsgator. Which is our second pick for Win aggregators. Second because we think of it as a online service or as abusiness tool for Win office Greg Reinacker of NewsGator has deservedly made it the #1 choice in syndicationland because it works seamlessly as a part of Outlook. A lot of people already have newsgator for one reason or another. Yes, we think that getting both is a good idea.
But for a stand alone reader Feed Demon is it.
Download Feed Demon we think that you'll like it alot and then you can have more time to get out of your chairs and ... fly and be free!

In what distant deeps or skies burnt the fires of thine eyes?On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire? And what shoulder, and what art,
could twist the sinews of they heart?
And when the heart began to beat,
what dread hand? And what dread feet? What the hammer? What the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain? What the anvil?
What dread grasp dare it's deadly terrors clasp? When the stars threw down their spears,
and wattered heaven with their tears,
did he smile his work to see?
Did He who made the lamb make thee?

TSC 1 is waiting at the dock, so we'll be trying some newfangled, whizbang, paleskinned-geek moblogging later. We'll meet at the Sammy Davis Room in Harrah's at Tahoe for a photo shoot. That is, if ROBO packed the para-power camera ... crap! And did we lock the door? ? ? Someone go back to the office and check ...
(And yes, animal rights activists, FLUFFY the Sudden Curve mascot is aboard and perfectly fine and has not been beheaded despite his terrifying ordeal at the hands of "Baghdad Bob" Wallace. Thanks to all the extorted book money Bob collected! Whew, it was a close one- but we will not negotiate with terrorists. Looks like poor TANGLES is toast. Unless YOU people come through .... )
UPDATE::
This is a very popular post - for some reason- and yes, this is what ROBO put up on the trinitron screen and it looks neat ... so here is a link to where you can find more of these cool anime wallpaper thingees:
P.S. - apparently, it's from something listed there called DUAL , but, being old and analog, we aren't completely sure what that means.
