Here's something fun. One Armed & Dangerous Babe portrayed by THREE distinct, armed, and dangerous actresses! Whew!
Back in December 1990, while I was in London, I swear that the walls of every underground tube station were plastered with posters of French actress Anne Parillaud posing provocatively with a gun. I began ducking into tube stations for no other reason than to take another look. The posters were advertising Luc Besson's film La Femme Nikita. I was fascinated with the image. Parillaud began haunting me. Shortly after returning from my vacation, I became a fan of both the movie and Ms. Parillaud.
In another couple of years, La Femme Nikita was remade into a much-criticized American movie called Point of No Return. It starred Bridget Fonda, already one of my favorite actresses and dream buddies.
Again, I became a big fan of the movie, even before I saw it. The promotional poster, after all, featured Fonda clutching a powerful looking weapon, and who could resist that stare? (I confess...I've always been drawn to women who intimidate the hell out of me.) And once I finally saw the movie, I was hooked. Sure, it was almost a frame-by-frame reshoot of Besson's film, but so what? It had Bridget Fonda in it, fer cryin' out loud...lookin' hotter than hot!
In another few years, Nikita inevitably came to television. Of necessity, the plotline had to be adapted considerably to accommodate a TV series of indeterminate length. USA Network's La Femme Nikita, which ran four full seasons and a very short fifth, starred Peta Wilson, who some of you may remember from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen a couple of years back.
Again, I became a big fan of this new version of La Femme Nikita, in no small part due to Wilson's undeniable babeability and the fact that she posed so well with various pieces of weaponry.
The character Nikita may hold the record for the Armed & Dangerous Babe portrayed by the most actresses over a span of only ten years. (I understand, but have been unable to confirm, that La Femme Nikita was even remade in Japan -- a FOURTH Nikita?) What's most remarkable is that each portrayal has been incredibly sexy in its own unique way.
To those loyal followers of the Alias TV series, I say, check out Nikita. Find out where Jennifer Garner gets her inspiration.

Hey ! I don't know if being in possession of supernatural powers qualifies a babe to be A&D, but how about Esteban Marato's "Vampirella?" That WOMAN had all of the qualifications!! and then some!
