I saw a Rifleman episode once where Lucas had been gone a long time, and Mark was worried he'd never come back.
Then, one day, Mark looked out at the horizon, and saw his dad riding back toward the house. Lucas dismounted his horse; dad and boy started running toward each other, in slomo, arms extended, romantic music and all. Mark jumped into Lucas' arms and started smothering his face with kisses.
It was weirder than the homoerotic undercurrents between the man and boy in Shane--I kid you not.
