Wally's post about Halloween reminds me of the circumstances surrounding my first viewing ot it.
I was in college at Illinois State University, located in the improbably and inaccurately named Normal, Illinois.
Three, perhaps four, of my friends worked at the local theater, so the night before Halloween was supposed to be released to the public, we had a private midnight showing.
Boy, was that weird. Michael Myers was originally incarcerated in Haddonfield, Illinois, a town which does not exist, but which was supposed to be located outside of Chicago, not that far from Normal.
Worse, Myers was also imprisoned in Litchfield, Illinois, a town which does exist (although there is no prison there), and which I have been by several hundred times, and have been in several times.
It was a weird feeling, to say the least, to realize one of the most famous horror monsters on film was located so close to where I used to live.
Posted by Bob Wallace, who's going to end up looking like Donald Pleasance someday, which is okay as long as I don't end up being involved with anyone like Michael Myers.
A litchfield and a zombieyard would mean the exact same thing. I think, that is if I'm remembering my Karl Edward Wagner correctly ...

I looked it up. You're right. Litchfield translate as "field of bodies" or "corpse yard." Jesus, how did the place get a name like that? I've been there a dozen times, and I can't image how it ever got that name.
